|Accidents Don't Have to Happen |
At RSS, we recognize that all injuries can be prevented. We are committed to helping our clients achieve a year-by-year reduction in injury incident rates until they approach zero. Our initial focus is to help our client to establish accountability, operational objectives, and minimum, acceptable standards of performance.
We start by examining line operations to identify potential exposures and the management systems in place to control them.
Our staff clarifies responsibilities for each management level and employee job classification.
Next, we assess effectiveness of fulfilling the assigned responsibilities. Based on our assessment, we prepare standards of performance to target critical (loss producing) exposures, and recommend methods to improve control of these risks. These standards and methods include activities and procedures that will address both short-term and long-term objectives. We integrate these standards within the context of an accountability system to facilitate ongoing performance monitoring.
RSS staff can draft the safety responsibilities for each employee job classification. These responsibilities are clearly defined, focused, measurable and realistic. A job demands analysis can also be performed to assure that safety factors which may impact job performance are clearly identified, and addressed.
RSS staff also works with management to regularly assess safety program success through focused program audits and performance evaluations.
